Toyota just release the new camry recently and is it any good. Read on and you will find virtually nothing about the new camry. Nope i did not test the car and neither did i look at it.
This is just a rant about it ... well 10 years ago . this car would be an automatic choice for most of the folks in malaysia and your fellow neighbour and relative will cry foul if you bought any other. 5 years ago you would still need to explain why you didnt buy a Camry or a Accord if you buy other cars.
Today - or yesterday to be exact i was happily washing my car when my neighbour lean over the fence for a chit chat on cars. He was mentioning about the VW and stuff ..when he brought up that he sold off his Camry for mere 49k after 7 years - no high enough for him. He scoff off that the high Toyota resale value is no longer high. Funny thing is as we chat on - he did not mention what is his next car. Then I ask the inevitable ... "What is your next car?"
"Err .. i go and tested volkswagen, golf, passat etc ... none of them seems to be good. You know Im working as Sales so it is pretty inconvenient for me to spend time on the car i bought and so forth - a lot of yada yada yada ....and the end - I bought the new Camry"
I was laughing off inside, while replying him "Not bad, looks cool!". Well thing certainly have changed - last time people will be proud to tell you i brought a Camry. Now it seems that he is trying to explain to me why he buy a Camry ... well Toyota .. lookout. Times have changed, you better do too or else the only place for your cars are in the Museum.
