Jaguar XF 2012 A Step In The Right Direction

Jaguar seems definitely to look for the last 20 years. The company posted disappointing sales figures, particularly in Quebec, and the manufacturer has not been able to rejuvenate its image and clientele. Under the yoke of Indian automaker Tata since its sale by Ford, Jaguar executives firmly believe that now has the means to turn the tide and restore its reputation. The best way to do this is by offering attractive products and the Jaguar XF 2012 is probably the one that best represents the aspirations of the new manufacturer.

Introduced in 2008 as the successor to the Jaguar S-Type, Jaguar XF 2012 marks a break with the past and that’s good. Jaguar can not afford to be a memory of the past and should appeal to a new generation. To achieve this, the Jaguar XF 2012 offers all a much more modern style with a signature shoe designer Ian Callum, the man who introduced us to the magnificent XK.

Powerful and Empowered Jaguar XF 2012

Under the hood, the XF series inherits a 5.0-liter V8 engine with an output of 385 horsepower. The engine transmits torque to the rear wheels thanks to the excellent six-speed automatic ZF. There is plenty of power for this sport sedan which displays a minimum weight thanks to its body made entirely of aluminum, a unique element to the XF in its niche. The 0-100 km / h takes 5.7 seconds in a loop or a longer acceptable.

Lovers of sportsmanship can turn to the second version, the XFR, a little more bestial, both in terms of performance and style. It has the same 5.0-liter V8 engine, but this time the engineers have grafted a supercharger, bringing power to 510 horses. This advantage of 125 horsepower on regular version can subtract about a second to 0-100/km, but especially the extra torque makes the car interesting, especially during overtaking maneuvers.

Innovations in other markets …Jaguar XF 2012

The Jaguar XF 2012 has a few technological innovations this year, including a turbocharged diesel 2.2-liter, eight-speed transmission and a system “Start & Stop”, which all enhance the use of the car. Unfortunately for us, these elements will not be offered in North America. It remains dependent on the United States in this kind of decision.

The other factor that does not help the cause of the Jaguar XF 2012 is the lack of all-wheel drive, regardless of the version. This type of engine is a high percentage of the sales of competing models and Jaguar can not miss this trend. The manufacturer knows this and that is why we are currently working on the case. It is therefore likely that the next two years, AWD can be found on the menu of the Jaguar XF 2012 and other products of the manufacturer.

Not easy to compete in the segment of luxury cars. Many traditional manufacturers are trying to make their way there, but it takes a lot more than a car to get there. In the case of Jaguar, the manufacturer has a clear advantage with a name that already evokes prestige because of its rich past. It only remains to modernize and Jaguar XF 2012 is a step in the right direction.
