Fiat expanded so that both series for a model with extremely low fuel consumption. With an average consumption of 4.0 liters per 100 kilometers and CO2 emissions of 92 g / km (both with automatic Dualogic transmission), the Fiat 500 Twinair with the worlds most fuel-efficient gasoline engine Fiat 500 Twinair with the worlds most fuel-efficient Benzinmotorneu developed two-cylinder turbocharged engine in the world fuel-efficient gasoline cars.

Fiat 500 Twinair

Twinair developed technology for the first time a two-cylinder engine with a turbocharger and the innovative valve control Multiair. Developed by Fiat technology replaces the conventional engines used in mechanical valve actuation with camshaft on the intake side by an electrohydraulic system. Multiair enabling fully variable and cylinder-selective control of the intake valves. The effect is a significantly higher power and torque while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

At the same time ensures the turbocharger for power and torque data at the level of a much larger four-cylinder. What causes the Twinair technology, demonstrate the technical data: output 63 kW / 85 hp, maximum torque 145 Newton meters at 1900 revolutions per minute. For even more efficiency, especially in urban environments, provide the standard start-stop system, a gear shift indicator and an Eco-driving mode.

If the full potential of the engine is not needed (for example in city traffic), the driver can activate with a switch to operating mode "Eco". Then provides electronic motor power (42 kW / 57 PS) reduced for minimum fuel consumption and maximum efficiency.

Subaru Outback 2013

 Subaru Outback, 2013

The Subaru of America, Inc. introduced the 2013 Outback models, powered by a new, more efficient powertrain and debuting the new EyeSight driver-assist system and revised styling. Chassis enhancements improve both ride quality and agility in the 2013 Subaru Outback, which also offers new amenities and audio/infotainment capabilities.

The 2013 Outback features a restyled front end, with new headlights, grille, front bumper and fog lights, for a more powerful appearance. Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive distinguishes the Outback from crossover competitors, which generally offer all-wheel drive as an extra-cost option. The Outback continues with 8.7 inches of ground clearance, which is higher than many crossovers and some dedicated SUVs.

The 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i models debut a new double-overhead-cam (DOHC) 2.5-liter FB series Boxer engine for increased performance and fuel efficiency. The new engine produces 173 hp and 174 lb.-ft. of torque, compared to 170 hp and 170 lb.-ft. with the previous engine. More significant is that the new engine produces greater low-end torque across a broad speed range, making the 2013 Outback 2.5i models feel more responsive in everyday driving.

Up to 30 MPG
Subaru Outback 2.5i and 2.5i Premium models offer a choice between a standard 6-speed manual transmission and the second-generation Lineartronic CVT; the latter is standard on 2.5i Limited models. Outback 3.6R models continue with a 256-horsepower 3.6-liter 6-cylinder Boxer engine and 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.

Official EPA fuel economy figures are not yet available, but Subaru projects that the 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i with the Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) will achieve 24-mpg city/30 mpg highway/26 mpg combined, up compared with the 22/29/24 for the 2012 model. Subaru also projects that the 2013 Outback will achieve a 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The 2013 Outback models add a new Brake Override system, and now an airbag deployment signals a fuel cutoff.

Unlike a conventional automatic transmission that uses fixed gear ratios, a CVT provides infinite variability between the lowest and highest available ratios with no discernable steps or shifts. The CVT continuously and smoothly adapts to performance demand, helping to keep the engine in its most efficient operating range. Models with the CVT also feature a 6-speed manual mode with steering wheel paddle shifters, which allow the driver to control the transmission via six pre-set ratios.

New EyeSight Driver-Assist System
The 2013 Subaru Outback (and Legacy) models debut Subarus new EyeSight driver-assist system, which integrates Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning. Projected to be one of the most affordable such technologies available in the U.S. market, EyeSight uses a stereo camera design developed by Subaru to provide a detection angle wider than that of radar-based systems.

The EyeSight system processes stereo images to identify the vehicles traveling in front, as well as obstacles, traffic lanes and other items. Below relative speeds of approximately 19mph, EyeSight is capable of detecting pedestrians or objects in the vehicles path and can activate in order to mitigate or even avoid the collision. Under certain circumstances, Eyesight is able to bring the car to a complete stop.

At relative speeds above approximately 19 mph, EyeSight can apply the brakes when an object is detected, and will attempt to brake if the driver takes no evasive action, or does not brake appropriately, to help mitigate collision damage.

The Lane Departure and Sway Warning feature can detect if the car begins to wander outside the intended lane without a turn signal being used, or if the car begins to sway within the travel lane. Intended for freeway use, Eyesights Adaptive Cruise Control system can maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front, braking and/or accelerating the car as needed to maintain the driver-selected target speed and traveling distance. Adaptive Cruise Control is operational from 1-87 mph and can fully brake the vehicle to a stop if the system "locks on" to a vehicle ahead. As an added convenience, Adaptive Cruise Control assists the driver in heavy "stop and go" freeway traffic by maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.

In heavy traffic conditions, EyeSight will also alert the driver when the vehicle ahead has moved if he or she doesnt react within several seconds. The technology can also help reduce collision damage by cutting the throttle when it senses an obstacle in front, but the accelerator pedal continues to be pushed.

Blending the Best of Car and SUV
The Subaru Outback is smart-sized compared to other 2-row crossover vehicles, featuring a mid-size interior in an easy-to-maneuver and off-road-capable wagon. The Subaru Outback provides the crisp car-like handling with the versatility of an SUV. The 8.7 inches of ground clearance is higher than for many large SUVs and crossovers while maintaining a low step-in height.

Total passenger volume of 105.4 cu. ft. and maximum cargo capacity of 71.3 cu. ft. (with the standard 60/40 split rear seatbacks folded) rivals that of larger, heavier vehicles. The Outback also features a rear cargo area that is deeper and wider than in many SUVs.

Revised Suspension for Enhanced Agility, Smoother Ride
Numerous enhancements to the body structure, suspension and steering give the Outback an even smoother and quieter ride for 2013, while also helping increase handling agility. Greater stiffness at key points of the structure, including the front strut mounts and rear frame rails, helps to reduce transmission of vibration while also contributing to more responsive handling.

In tandem with the structural enhancements, Subaru increased the diameter of the double-wishbone rear suspensions sway bar and also increased the spring and damper rates and bushing stiffness. As a result, body roll has been reduced by up to 40 percent. The Subaru Outback driver will experience a more responsive, yet quieter vehicle overall.

Enhanced Interior Comfort and Convenience
New, more comfortable seat fabric and a new light matte wood grain trim provide a sophisticated appearance. The Outback Limited models for 2013 offer a new Special Appearance Package option that provides a new Keyless Access & Start system along with a two-position memory system for the already-standard 10-way power drivers seat. With the Keyless Access & Start system, the driver, while carrying the remote control in a pocket or purse, can unlock the car by touching the door handle button. The rear gate also has an unlock touch sensor.

Also in the Limited models, a new electro-luminescent instrument cluster integrates the 3.5-in. color screen for the multi-information display, which also shows EyeSight functions when the car is so equipped. Rear A/C outlets have also been added as standard to Limited models, to make the standard 60/40 split-reclining rear seats an even more hospitable place to be.

The Subaru Outback was the first crossover to feature as standard factory-installed foldable roof crossbars. For 2013, a new adjustable design allows the rear crossbar to be moved rearward to carry longer items; the distance between the front and rear bars can now be increased from the standard 29.9 inches up to 39.7 inches. This enhancement, made as a direct result of Outback owner feedback, allows greater ease in carrying longer items like kayaks and other outdoor gear on the already easy-to-use roof rack system.

Three Trim Levels
The 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i models are available in three trim levels - base, Premium and Limited. Outback 3.6R models will be offered in base and Limited. The base 2.5i features a long roster of standard features, among them steering wheel cruise control and audio switches; Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming capability; a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat with recline feature; electronic parking brake with Hill Holder System and an automatic headlight function.

Outback Premium models add additional amenities, including a 10-way power drivers seat (with power lumbar support adjustment) and drivers auto up/down window; leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter (CVT); instrument panel storage bin with door; ambient light for the overhead console; body-colored side mirrors and 17-in. alloy wheels (all 3.6R trim lines have 17-in. alloy wheels as standard).

The Premium models offer three option packages. (1) The All-Weather Package adds heated front seats and mirrors and a windshield wiper de-icer. (2) The Power Moonroof Package with Rear Vision Camera also includes an auto-dimming rear-view mirror with Homelink garage-remote function. (3) The harman/kardon® display-type premium audio system with standard XM® satellite radio service (4-month free trial subscription included), a 4.3-in. color display, and 440-watt high-performance audio amplifier and 9 harman/kardon premium speakers, with subwoofer.

The Limited trim lines add to the Premium a standard Lineartronic CVT, perforated leather upholstery, dual zone automatic climate control, the display-type harman/kardon Premium Audio Package, rear A/C ducts, electro-luminescent gauges and a 4-way power front passenger seat. The Limited models also exclusively offer an available voice-activated GPS navigation system with a 7-in. LCD display, Rear Vision Camera and XM NavTraffic, among other features. (See "Updated Audio Technology" section, below.)

Updated Audio Technology
The standard audio system in the Subaru Outback 2.5i models is upgraded for 2013. New features include Bluetooth hands-free phone capability and audio streaming, iPod® control capability and a USB port. The system continues with an AM/FM stereo, single disc CD player, Radio Data Broadcast System (RDBS), 3.5mm aux. input jack and 4 speakers.

The top-level Outback Limited models exclusively offer an optional new navigation system with premium audio. In addition to all of the features in the harman/kardon Premium Audio Package, this option includes: touch-screen GPS navigation system with 7.0-inch LCD display; voice activated controls and navigation; XM NavTraffic (subscription required); Rear Vision Camera, and an SD card slot for convenient navigation map updates.

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive: Three Different Types
Subaru offers three different Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive systems in the 2013 Outback line, each tailored to the type of transmission. In Outback 2.5i models equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission, the Continuous AWD system uses a viscous-coupling locking center differential to distribute power a nominal 50/50 front to rear. Slippage at either the front or rear wheels will cause the system to send more power to the opposite wheels.

Subaru Outback 2.5i models equipped with the Lineartronic CVT use Active Torque Split AWD. An electronically managed continuously variable transfer clutch actively controls power distribution in response to driving conditions and wheel slippage.

The Outback 3.6R uses the Variable Torque Distribution (VTD) AWD system with a 5-speed electronic automatic transmission. A planetary center differential works with an electronically controlled continuously variable hydraulic transfer clutch to manage power distribution. The VTD system normally sends more power to the rear wheels (45:55) to enhance handling agility, and it can continuously adjust power distribution in response to driving and road conditions.

Subaru Safety
The Subaru Ring-Shaped Frame Reinforcement body structure has been proven for occupant protection in more than a decade of use. Inside, the Subaru Outback features standard front side pelvis/torso airbags and side curtain airbags that offer front and rear outboard seat coverage.

Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) combines stability and traction control functions, and traction control works to augment the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive functionality. The 4-wheel disc Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) integrates Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and the Brake Assist safety system that automatically applies maximum braking pressure in an emergency stop. The electronic Hill Holder System holds the vehicle in place until the driver presses the accelerator pedal to pull away from a stop. New for 2013, a Brake Override system ensures that engine power will be cut when both the brake and accelerator are pressed simultaneously.

A ZF 8-speed

For 2013, BMW Alpina and agreed to provide the BMW Alpina B7 2013 a ZF 8-speed. However, this box has no lever or gear selector as known. Indeed, the gear selector, push button, is placed squarely in the steering wheel. While this may seem completely new, it is important to know that Chrysler has released an automatic push-button on the steering wheel in the late 50s. Found, however, shift levers on each side of the steering wheel.

2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport ES

Information Specification Image Review 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport ES
At first glance, the naming of the 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport seems to make sense. This compact SUV looks the part of an automotive athlete with its aggressive, Lancer Evolution-inspired front-end styling and semi-crouching stance. But sadly, theres really not enough under the buff body to justify the "Sport" portion of this models moniker.

On paper the Outlander Sport looks promising, as it is loosely based on the Mitsubishi Outlander, a crossover SUV weve praised in the past for its agile handling. Baby brother Sport is 14 inches shorter, 2 inches lower and as much as 700 pounds lighter, all favorable factors that should add up to increased agility and performance. But in the real world weve discovered that these would-be advantages yield nothing particularly beneficial.
The Sports lighter weight would be an advantage if it could be had with the bigger Outlanders more powerful engine choices, but the Sport only comes with the 148-horsepower inline-4 borrowed from the Lancer sedan. And when its coupled to the CVT, the end result is lackluster acceleration. The Sports handling will likely be fine for most folks, but those looking for performance that matches the Sports name and looks will wish for less body roll and more grip during spirited cornering.

If you forget about the "Sport" part, this Mitsubishi is pretty agreeable. It provides a smooth, quiet freeway ride and comes with a fair number of features for relatively short money. But pitted against other compact crossovers, the Outlander Sport doesnt really make the cut. Other similarly sized runabouts, such as the Kia Sportage, Mini Cooper Countryman and Nissan Juke are more enjoyable to drive thanks to superior performance and handling. And if youll be frequently hauling luggage or cargo, more mainstream models like the Chevrolet Equinox, Honda CR-V and even the regular Outlander are going to be more practical and useful overall.
The Outlander Sport is offered in ES or SE trims with front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive (SE only) configurations. The standard engine is a 148-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Standard features on the Outlander Sport include seven-airbags, vehicle stability control, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, hill start assist, heated mirrors, body-colored door handles, LED tail lamps, traction control, and a tire-pressure monitor. A chrome tailpipe finisher, Xenon headlights, illuminated vanity mirrors, heated front seats, automatic climate control and passive entry make the SE trim unique.
Despite its name, the 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport offers little in the way of sportiness. Acceleration is passable, but often youll find yourself wishing for more power when entering highways and passing. Handling is similarly disappointing for driving enthusiasts, with noticeable body roll that does little to instill driver confidence or fun. To its credit, the Sport does have a smooth and quiet ride, making it an acceptable companion on long road trips.

2012 Volkswagen Passat

Specifications prices Modifications and Image 2012 Volkswagen Passat
If youve always wanted to drive a classy European sedan but have been put off by that nagging voice in your head telling you its your patriotic duty to buy something built in America, youll want to check out the 2012 Volkswagen Passat.
This all-new midsize sedan combines many of the qualities that likely drew you to German cars in the first place, including elegant styling and a more sporting driving character. But its also the first vehicle to roll out from VWs brand-new assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Compared to the previous Passat (which, incidentally, continues to be sold elsewhere in the world), its meant to better appeal to American tastes, with a roomier interior, a new selection of engines and (most important) a significantly lower price.
As for the engine lineup, last years gutsy 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is no more. Instead, VW gives you a choice of three engines: a 2.5-liter inline-5 weve come to know in the Jetta, a 2.0-liter inline-4 diesel (the TDI, also from the Jetta and Golf) or a 280-horsepower 3.6-liter V6. All of them offer some form of six-speed automatic transmission, while the two smaller engines are offered with manual gearboxes as well. The TDI diesel is certainly the most interesting, as it promises more than 40 mpg on the highway and a maximum cruising range of nearly 800 miles.
We suspect some prior owners of VWs mainstream sedan will lament the change in direction for the Passat, as it used to be a distinct bridge between regular family sedans and entry-level luxury cars. But the fact is VWs entry in the crowded family sedan category is now a better fit for the majority of consumers. Its priced right, drives well and finally holds a family of five comfortably. And thankfully, it still has its German roots.
There are some minor downsides to the new Passat package, notably the underachieving base engine. And given the state of the midsize segment, we certainly recommend buyers compare the Passat back-to-back with top choices like the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima. Those interested in a somewhat sportier driving experience may also want to consider the Mazda 6 and Nissan Altima. But for all that, the 2012 Volkswagen Passat remains uniquely positioned to satisfy your desire to drive European and own American.
 INTERIOR
Ive been critical of Volkswagens decision to remove some of the upscale cabin niceties in its redesigned Jetta compact sedan in order to price the car more competitively. Likewise, the new Passat goes without some features that VW enthusiasts might appreciate, like a height-adjustable front armrest, but the overall materials quality, attention to detail and standard features — like one-touch up/down power windows for front and rear occupants, Bluetooth cell phone connectivity and dual-zone automatic air conditioning — make the Passat competitive with the best the family sedan segment has to offer.
The Passat has grown some with its redesign — 4 inches in length, half an inch in width and half an inch in height — but the cabin feels substantially roomier than the outgoing Passat. Legroom and shoulder room have increased — considerably in some instances. Im 6-foot-1, and even with the front seat adjusted for me, the backseat has nearly as much legroom as a long-wheelbase full-size sedan, which the Passat isnt. This is the kind of car four tall adults could take on a long road trip and arrive no worse for wear — even those sitting in back.
The cavernous passenger area doesnt come at the expense of cargo room, as the trunk measures a competitive 15.9 cubic feet. Its very deep and rectangular, with few intrusions. A 60/40-split folding backseat is standard, and lowering the rear backrests reveals a large opening between the trunk and the cabin.
 EXTERIOR
One of the Passats most impressive qualities is its forgiving suspension, which translates into comfortable highway cruising. The four-wheel independent suspension yields ride quality thats nearly as soft as a Toyota Camrys, but with better body control over big dips and rises. Its a departure from the previous-generation Passats firmer ride, but the move makes a lot of sense for this car class, where comfort is more important than sportiness.
As with other Volkswagens, the Passat has light-effort steering whether you get the gas engine, which uses hydraulic power steering, or the diesel, which has electric power assist. The steering wheel provides virtually no road feel — typical for this class — but good precision makes it easy to steer on winding country roads.
Despite the comfy suspension tuning, the Passat doesnt turn into a wallowing mess on serpentine roads. For a big sedan, body roll is well-controlled. All versions of the Passat have the same suspension tuning, but wheel sizes range from 16 to 18 inches.
 ENGINE
As such, its impossible to avoid the term "out of date" when considering the new 2012 Volkswagen Passat VR6, even though its narrow-angle, 280-horsepower, 258 pound-foot 3.6-liter engine is the one that will make enthusiasts hearts palpitate most -- even more so than the 140-horsepower, 236 pound-foot 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel. VW is chasing Honda with its new midsize car, and the Accord, after being a V-6 holdout in the 90s, is now the biggest overall-length car in this segment, offered in four-cylinder and V-6 iterations.

In case you havent kept up, the 12 Passat, exclusive to the North American market, though likely to be a model for China, is a couple of inches longer than a Toyota Camry, 2.5 inches shorter than the Accord, but with a wheelbase 0.2 inches longer than Accords. It shows in the commodious rear seats sumptuous legroom and headroom.
VW promises extensive use of high-strength steel, emphasized by the manufacturers estimated weight. These estimates typically fall short of ours, in which we fill the fuel tanks, but the Passat VR6 comes in at 3,446 pounds, just 49 pounds heavier than a similarly equipped TDI model and 225 heavier than a five-cylinder model with automatic transmission.

SAFETY
The 2012 Volkswagen Passats list of standard safety features includes antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. In the event of a crash, a new feature called Intelligent Crash Response automatically cuts off the fuel supply, unlocks the doors and turns on the hazard flashers.

Driving Impressions

On the road, the 2012 Volkswagen Passats character depends a great deal on which engine is under the hood. Performance from the 2.5-liter five-cylinder is adequate and should be an acceptable choice for most buyers, but fuel economy and performance are nowhere near best-in-class. The alternative, the 2.0-liter turbodiesel in TDI models, offers significantly better fuel economy and livelier low-end power, but highway passing can be a challenge due to its modest horsepower output.
For those not satisfied with the above, the 3.6-liter V6 engine delivers much more enthusiastic acceleration. The DSG automated manual transmission thats available with the turbodiesel engine and standard with the V6 works very well, and its regular and manual-shift modes mean the Passat is well suited both for commuting and more spirited driving.
On the move, the Passat is an engaging sedan to drive thanks to its well-sorted suspension tuning, precise steering feel and strong brakes. The car also manages to earn high marks for ride comfort, which is ultimately more important considering the fact that most buyers will be far more concerned with schlepping kids to school or co-workers to lunch than burning up winding back roads.

2013 Mazda MAZDA6 Price 20 725

The 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 is one of the latest version of 2013 Mazda. A 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 sees no significant changes other than gaining 18-inch wheels for the i Touring Plus and i Grand Touring. As the 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 has its aggressively sculpted sheet metal and agile driving dynamics, this is one of the more fun-loving choices in the family-sedan class.

The 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 i versions are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 167 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 i Sport. A five-speed automatic with manual shift control is offered on the i Sport and is the only choice available.

The 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 i models with the automatic are rated at 21/30/25 mpg, while the V6 stands at 18/27/21 mpg, both of which are at the low end for this segment. The 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 stands apart from most other family sedans on the strength of its nimble handling. It enters curves more confidently than the Honda Accord, and ranks almost as highly on the fun-to-drive meter as the class-leading Nissan Altima. The 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 athletic demeanor comes with a ride quality that can be a bit taut, however, and road noise is also more prominent. Still, neither is particularly bothersome, even when riding on the big 18-inch wheels. The 2013 Mazda MAZDA6 is available at starting price of $20,725.
